Where Do They Hide All The "Junk"?!

Last night was the DC Drag Queen Race 2010. I headed to Dupont Circle right after work to ensure that I got a good spot. Before heading to the street, some friends and I stopped in Mad Hatter to get some dinner and drinks.

Mad Hatter is one of my favorite DC spots because I am a huge Alice in Wonderland and Tim Burton fan. After last night however, I am also a HUGE fan of their food! I got the Psychedelic Dog which is covered in potato chips and pineapple. This may sound like an odd choice but I love pineapple on my pizza so why not hot dogs too?! And last but not least!! *drum roll please*... THE BUFFALO CHICKEN FONDUE! The most amazing thing I have ever put in my mouth (que the "that's what she said"...har har).

After Mad Hatter deliciousness, we headed down to the street to admire the costumes and continue to be surprised by how they tuck you know what where?! Seriously. In a leotard where do they fit it all... it's beside me.

Anyways.. meet miss Katy Perry!

Is she your Teenage Dream?

Dolphins

Last night, I was up at 2 in the morning bawling my eyes out because I watched "The Cove."

I know I'm a little behind, but I finally got the opportunity to watch it. I am completely horrified by what I saw in the award winning documentary and I will no longer support Dolphin captivity for our amusement. One line from the movie that stuck out to me the most was,

"If you're not an activist, you're an in-activist."

Today, I will start by helping to spread the word.

Where Was Matthew McConaughey??

Screen on the Green is an outdoor movie night featured in 11 locations around D.C.
The location that I was invited to was conveniently placed between the Washington Monument and the Capital Building. I stepped off the metro at the Smithsonian station unaware that the famous monuments I had only seen pictures of, would be the backdrop to the huge screening of Goldfinger.
It was a perfect setting and I was almost expecting Matthew McConaughey to whip around the corner and sweep me off my feet with his brown colored M&M's ("because they're the only ones with no artificial coloring").
30 minutes into the movie and about three hours into cheese and wine time (note to self: bring more wine) it started to pour! I actually didn't mind... I loved watching adults run through puddles and splash around like kids again.

It was an unexpected end to a great night :)
